Damian McCarthy is the Founder and Chairman of NexGen Football Club, driven by a lifelong passion for football and a deep belief in its power to change young lives.

What began as a small idea has grown under his leadership into one of the area’s most respected grassroots clubs, with over 1,000 players trained, 20 players signed by professional clubs, and more than 100 invited to academy trials. Damian’s vision has always been clear: to create opportunities, raise standards, and build a club that players and families are proud to be part of.

Alongside leading the club, Damian remains actively involved on the pitch, managing a team and staying closely connected to the players and coaches who represent NexGen every week. His tenure has seen the club celebrate major milestones, including multiple Gold Cup wins, national media recognition, the launch of the club’s first girls’ team, and the growth of NexGen into a true football community. Damian’s energy, commitment and relentless desire for excellence continue to drive the club forward as it enters its next chapter.
